Abstract
A history of the village of Tcheng-rou-sse, west of Beijing. The cemetery of the French mission to Beijing began in 1732, and attempts have been made to bring its origins to light. The Lazarists (Vincentians) took over its direction in 1785, and many of its members were buried there. It was restored in 1860 and 1863. Maps and illustrations are also included, as well as their names in Chinese characters when possible.
