Abstract

A list of the French membership of the Congregation of the Mission at the time of the French Revolution. Several lists of names have been used and edited as necessary. The total amounts to 800 Vincentian priests and brothers. Most names are accompanied with biographical endnotes. About 90% of the members left at the revolution. About 9% of the surviving members indicated their willingness or ability to return and reconstitute the Congregation. The study, done in 2021, was revised and updated in 2025.
